It has now been 40 years since legendary speaker designer Dudley Harwood (famous for his work at the BBC designing monitors including the LS3/5a) formed Harbeth Audio.
To celebrate this occasion the company is releasing special edition variations of their current Super HL5+ and reference 40.2 speakers. The new Anniversary editions have many improvements inside and out.

Aesthetically the new speakers have an impressive new walnut veneer and nice little variations, like new black 40th anniversary badges.
Internally the speakers have also been improved with a number of upgrades designed to take the clarity and realism of Harbeth speakers that extra bit further. The speakers now feature WBT-nextgen binding posts (The Super HL5+ also now has 4 to allow for bi-wiring), a new-look super-tweeter with protection bar and new Harbeth branded British-made audio grade poly capacitors.
For these speakers Harbeth have also teamed with established audio furniture manufacturers Hi-Fi Racks to produce two special walnut ‘Grand Stand’ speaker stands to compliment the speakers perfectly.

Only 40 of each speaker will be designated to the UK meaning these will be an extremely rare and collectable piece of audio history. Harbeth has a fantastic following of dedicated owners, so we expect these to be very in demand.
The retail price of the Walnut Super HL5+ is £4,475 and the price of the special 40.2s is £14,200. The Grand Slam speaker stands are available for £650.
